What is epistemic trespassing?
Epistemic trespassing is when an expert in one field makes claims or judgments about a field outside their area of expertise.
In other words, it’s when an expert assumes that their expertise in one field can be applied to a completely different field.
Eg: imagine an expert doctor making claims about food and nutrition simply because they’re a doctor.
